As a makeup artist, you can imagine that I love makeup. I love transforming people and making them feel glamorous. It is not only my job but my passion, and it is very rewarding for me when someone loves what I've created on them.
Makeup is meant to be fun, whether you use it t express yourself artistically or if you use it to accentuate your features, but it is not meant to hide away your face. Makeup, like many other things (fashion, hair extensions, diets, teeth whitening, spanx) that we use for esthetic purposes are meant to be used by women however we see fit.
I am one of these women and I love getting glammed up and feeling like a million bucks, as the saying goes.
That being said, I know that for some these things are used to try and fit into an ideal of beauty and essentially leave behind a self deprecating woman who believes she's not good enough. It is so sad to see women who feel that they are not "pretty enough", "skinny enough", "sexy enough", "tall enough" ... this has to stop.
We should feel empowered because of the wonderful women we are and the characteristics that make each of us unique. We as women are strong and beautiful and we should help build up self-confidence in each other.
In the video below, the intended message does just that. I wanted to share it with all of you and I hope you love this as much as I do. I came across this music video on Facebook yesterday, it is by Colbie Caillat and the song is called Try. Enjoy!
Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments.
Lots of love,
